The Hark AI agent is Hark Pro, a consumer AI assistant from Hark that reads your email, books things, tracks your stuff and runs tasks on a cloud computer for you. Hark calls it "an operating system for your life". It launched on 6 October 2026 on the web at hark.com, plus iOS and Android, and there's a free tier. I signed up the day after and tested it. Here's what it does, what it costs, and whether you should bother switching.

Quick background. Hark is the consumer AI company founded by Brett Adcock, the same guy who runs the humanoid-robot company Figure. Its head of design is Abidur Chowdhury, a former Apple designer. Per Gizmodo, he's the one who presented the iPhone Air at Apple's September 2025 keynote. You can feel that design background the second you open the app.

If you want to go deeper than one consumer app and actually build AI agents that run parts of your business, that's what we do inside the AI Profit Boardroom. You get AI agent courses, the Agent OS, and a community of people building this stuff every day, for $69/mo.

What the Hark AI Agent Actually Is

Strip away the launch hype and Hark Pro is four things stacked together. Per TechCrunch, Gizmodo and Fast Company coverage:

The proactive cards are the interesting bit. Based on your connected email and services, they suggest things like approving items, uploading proof of purchase, checking flights or paying bills. Gizmodo gave an example of it buying movie tickets and booking parking for the same trip.

My First Look: Setting Up Hark

I signed up for free on hark.com. First impression: clean, smooth UI. It kind of feels like the Apple of AI agents. Honestly, it's kind of what Apple should have released.

Onboarding was easier than Grok Bot. It feels like a simple, out-of-the-box version of OpenClaw. No setup headaches, no config files, nothing to install.

It recommends connecting your email first, so I connected Gmail. Then it greeted me with a question: "What's one thing on your plate this week I could take off?" It suggested things like a trip, a dinner reservation or an appointment. That's a smart opener. It tells you straight away what it's built for.

The restaurant booking test

So I gave it a real task. I asked it to book an Italian restaurant for Wednesday next week.

It asked how many people. I said 6pm, two people. I actually typo'd "people" and it understood anyway. Then it started booking, and it picked one of my favourite restaurants, which shows the memory and email context doing their job.

I told it to stop before it completed the booking. But it got all the way to the booking step on its own. That's the core promise working: you say what you want in plain English, it does the clicking.

Integrations

Here's what I saw available to connect:

You can also schedule tasks, so it's not only reactive. My belief, and I'd hedge this, is that once you connect an app, Hark seems able to use it inside its own computer without you logging in again. With Grok Bot, you often end up logging in through the agent's computer. If that holds up, it's a big quality-of-life win.

Panels

Panels are where Hark gets personal. You hit "create a new panel" and type what you want. I tried "track my productivity".

It asked which kind I meant: meeting hours versus focus time, or to-do tasks. Then it suggested connecting apps like ClickUp or Asana. That follow-up question matters. It didn't just build a random widget, it worked out what I actually wanted.

Other panel ideas: fitness, workouts, calorie tracking. Example panels include your calendar events, Shopify packages arriving this week, and new podcast episodes.

Projects

Projects are for long-horizon work that doesn't fit in a normal chat. They're dedicated threads that store files. Think planning a big event, or tracking one work topic over weeks. Everything lives in one place instead of getting lost in chat history.

Home

The home screen pulls it all together: spaces, panels, action buttons, even paying bills. It's the part that makes the "operating system for your life" line make sense.

The proactive inbox

This was my favourite feature. Hark read my email and offered action items with a simple yes or no. You don't dig through your inbox. It surfaces what needs doing and you tap.

Voice, scheduling and "prep my day"

The chat has a few extras worth knowing:

When I ran "prep my day", it told me my inbox was clean and offered to pull sales numbers before a 4pm team sales meeting. That's genuinely useful. It also suggested trip planning, like a camping list, when to leave and flights.

Hark Pricing and Privacy

Per press coverage, there are three tiers:

Reports say the first 100,000 sign-ups get a paid plan free. I can't promise that's still open, so check the sign-up page when you join.

On privacy, Hark says it won't sell your data to advertisers and that you can delete your data any time. TechCrunch framed the whole launch around privacy. That matters when you're handing an AI your inbox.

Hark also says an AI-native device is coming in 2027. Details haven't been shared. Per Gizmodo, it's not glasses, not wearables and not Figure robots.

Is It Worth Switching to Hark?

A viewer asked me this straight up. With so many new bots dropping, Hermes, Muse, Dots, Grok Bot, is it worth switching to Hark?

Here's my honest answer. They're not really doing the same job.

Hark is a consumer life-admin assistant. It's built for your email, your bookings, your bills, your day. It's polished and easy, and that's the point.

Hermes and OpenClaw-style agents are for building your own automations and business workflows. You control them, you wire them into your systems, you make them do exactly what your business needs.

So you don't need to rebuild everything. Try Hark on your personal admin. Keep your main agent stack for work. If you haven't built that stack yet, start with my Agent OS guide.

Who Hark Is For

It's less suited to anyone who wants full control over how their agent runs, or who needs custom business automations. That's where your own agent stack wins.

My take: it's easy, it's smooth, and it's worth trying free. If you want to go further and build agents that run your business, join the AI Profit Boardroom for the AI agent courses and the Agent OS.
