Setup Steps

1 — Download Aion UI

Go to the Aion UI download page.

Pick the build for your OS (Mac/Windows/Linux).

Install.

2 — Make sure OpenClaw is running

Aion UI is a UI on top of OpenClaw — OpenClaw needs to be running first.

If you don't have OpenClaw set up, follow Build Your Own OpenClaw.

3 — Open Aion UI

Launch the app.

It auto-detects OpenClaw.

If it doesn't, check that the OpenClaw gateway is up.

4 — Switch to OpenClaw Gateway view

In Aion UI's settings, point it at your OpenClaw config.

Now Aion UI is your front-end.

5 — Add models

Aion UI has its own model management.

Add your providers (Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, local Ollama, etc).

Switch between them per agent.

Multi-Agent Teamwork

This is where Aion UI really shines.

You can have:

OpenClaw running a task.
Claude Code running another task.
Hermes handling another job.

All in parallel.

All in one dashboard.

Each agent works on different tasks simultaneously.

What's Missing

Be honest.

Documentation is thin.
Some setups can be a bit buggy on first install.
The desktop pet is a polarising feature (some love it, some don't).

For most users, none of these are dealbreakers.

Common Setup Issues

1. "Connection error" when launching.

Make sure OpenClaw gateway is up first.

Aion UI is a wrapper — without OpenClaw, there's nothing to wrap.

2. Wrong API showing on agents.

Check the agent settings — sometimes Aion UI assumes the wrong default model.

Switch in the agent's individual settings.

3. Schedule tasks not appearing.

If you're connected to OpenClaw correctly, scheduled tasks pull through automatically.

Check OpenClaw side first.
